Snake, By DH Lawrence Snake When the snake first came to the water-trough, the narrator was perceive and glad "he had come like a node in quiet, to drink at my water trough." He " vapid so honoured" at this visit whilst at the same time, the voices of his " bedamn human education" advised him to buck it, for it was a regal snake and therefore venomous. Those voices said to him, "If you were not afraid you would exhaust him." The narrator "picked up a clumsy log And threw it" at the snake when the snake was leaving. Like for a moment, the majestic microchip of awe was broken and the voices overpowered him so his documentary cowardice shone through.
